Got Texture? Cocokind Celery Duo Full Review

Updated: Nov 30, 2020

I have had the pleasure of trying out the Cocokind Celery Duo for about 2 months now and I am excited to repurchase! The duo consists of a Texture Smoothing Cream and a Pore Refining Concentrate. I have never previously heard of incorporating celery into skincare, so I was immediately intrigued by the ingredient list. Cocokind as a brand, releases some amazing products that are focused on using organic ingredients and achieving the best possible results. With generally sustainable packaging, amazing morals, and effective ingredients, I couldn’t stop myself from making a purchase. Below is the Cocokind Celery Duo in full review.

My Skin Type: Dry/Combination

What’s Included:

Pore Refining Concentrate

Texture Smoothing Cream

Price: $34

The Claims:

The product claims that it “reduces the look of pores and uneven texture while promoting a satiny-smooth complexion.”

The combination of the two products in the duo are said to reduce the appearance of fine lines, texture, pores, and rougher patches on the skin. On top of evening everything out, it claims to provide hydration that lasts all day without being too heavy on the skin.

The Review:

Because the products are sold separately as well, the review will be organized by product so that you can choose one or the other!

The Pore Refining Concentrate:

Rating Out of 5: 4.5

For starters I will put it out there and say that I love this product! Being as impatient as I am, seeing results in a timely manner is important to me. I will definitely say that I have seen a noticeable difference in the appearance of my pores in the T-Zone area. As we all know pores don’t physically shrink, but the appearance was blurred and tightened.

Individual Price: $14

The Key Ingredients:

Celery Superseed Complex:

One of the key ingredients listed is their Celery Superseed Complex. This is a mixture of flax and celery extracts that help create the firming action we all want so desperately. The complex is what is helping to support the skin density and creates an almost blurred effect of the skin. I was skeptical at first about the effectiveness because the ingredient is new to me, but I was shocked at how well this worked for my skin!

Organic Aloe Leaf Juice:

This ingredient is rich in antioxidants, Vitamins A and C, as well as enzymes to help hydrate and protect the skin. This ingredient also helps a lot with the texture of the product and gives it a lightweight and more serum-like application.

Glycerin acts as the humectant in the product and that draws in moisture from your environment into the skin. This ingredient is one of the most effective humectants, so it was a nice surprise to see this on the ingredient list!

The application is nothing much different than a lightweight serum. It has a very smooth texture and is definitely an enjoyable experience to apply during your routine. The packaging has a metal roller ball as the dispenser, so it provides a very nice cooling effect on the skin to reduce puffiness as well! This product is great to use in the morning and at night to achieve the desired result.

Like previously stated, the roller ball applicator is a really nice touch for those looking to reduce puffiness in the skin, but sometimes I have found that it slightly malfunctions and takes a bit of fidgeting to get the product out. Most days it works just fine, but it is something to note.

The main component of the packaging is actually a sugarcane tube! This is a really cool way to create sustainable and effective packaging that is easy to recycle.

Final Thoughts:

This product has made a difference in the appearance of my skin in a very short amount of time! I love the way that the product applies and feels on the skin. There is no heavy scent which is an amazing plus. The only drawback is the slight malfunction of the packaging and relatively small amount of product. I finished the concentrate way before I used up the cream in the duo, so I will be purchasing my refills separately. Overall, this is an amazing product that can be a new staple in your collection.

Texture Smoothing Cream:

Rating Out of 5: 4.0

This product is a very nice and smooth moisturizer that has such a lightweight and almost fluffy feel. I did not notice any immediate results, but I did however see an overall reduction in fine lines and texture. An acne scar that I have had with me for years actually become more even with my skin texture and tone, which is something I have been struggling with for a while. This is not a miracle product, but it has definitely shown some minor improvements in my skin that have made a difference for me!

Individual Price: $20

The Key Ingredients:

Celery Superseed Complex:

See above :)

Tsubaki Seed Oil:

As well as the Celery Superseed Complex, this ingredient helps to really smooth over fine lines and wrinkles in the skin. This is not like a retinol or strong anti-aging ingredient, but it is helpful for the skin to retain moisture, create softer/fuller skin, and prevent future damage. Paired with the celery complex above, this is a match made in heaven.

Ginseng Root Extract:

This ingredient is great at balancing out the skin that has been used to help maintain the elasticity of skin and prevent aging skin cells. The ingredient is very rejuvenative and a great aspect to this product.

And More well known ingredient Squalane!

The texture is smooth and lightweight and feels almost velvety to the touch. If not worked in quick enough it slights pills up on the skin, so I work in small sections for the best absorption.

The packaging is not just cute, but it’s glass! These jars are great for all sorts of re-use and way more sustainable than plastic containers.

Final Thoughts:

This is not a magic product, but it has shown some really nice results for my dry/combination skin. The product has performed very well under my makeup because of the blurred and smooth finish that is created from the product. I highly recommend the duo for those struggling with texture at the moment and are looking for some more natural alternatives for their skin! Definitely check them out and see if this combo is exactly what your skin has been needing!

With Love,

April Ann :)
